Parker Street Ministries
Parker Street Ministries is a Christ-centered, non-profit organization committed to gospel-centered community development beginning in Lakeland’s Parker Street community. They serve the community through many ministries including an academic enrichment program, housing initiatives, community Christmas store, block parties, and neighboring through living in the community. Gospel, Inc. is a diverse community comprised of individuals from the homeless community, college and high school students, working professionals, local families, young and old, rich and poor, all grasping hands with one another in an effort to grapple with issues of social justice. They serve their community through forming relationships, serving meals, resourcing for local programs, Repurpose Art Studio, and a halfway house for men. Renew Polk is a missional partnership of churches that exists as a funding and resourcing catalyst for church planting in Polk County. The New City Network
The New City Network exists to develop a coalition of churches committed to urban communities, cross-cultural ministry, pursuing the poor, joyful worship, and sound biblical teaching. The network has grown to 67 churches and 35 church plants in 71 cities around the nation and world. These churches represent multiple denominations committed to these common goals. They serve these churches through conferences, ministry training, coaching, and resourcing. Strong Tower is excited to partner with them in serving urban communities. The Polk Ecumenical Action Council for Empowerment (PEACE) is a congregation-based community organization whose purpose is to build justice ministries and train members from diverse congregations to work together to identify root causes of community problems and to take action to resolve them. The purpose of the organization is to build a strong coalition capable of negotiating the interests of our community with a special concern for the vulnerable.
